William Hill shares rose 12½ to 548p in morning trade on the back of the announcement.
"The board remains confident about the prospects of the group in 2006 with the successful completion of the integration of Stanley Retail Betting and roll out of electronic point of sale and text systems expected to deliver business benefits," William Hill said. nilgue "In addition, the football World Cup is likely to provide additional revenue and customer acquisition opportunities."
In a statement on November 17 William Hill said it had "experienced mixed sporting results that have held back growth in gross win". Results for the year to December 27 will be announced on March 2.
